Laser Measure Redesign

11-2023

OBJECTIVE

Choose an object that can be taken apart easily with minimum four parts. Replicate the object in CAD and redesign it using a themed moodboard.

Timeline: 3 weeks

DISASSEMBLY

Procured a digital laser measure at the local Goodwill, named “Point-N-Measure”. Disassembled and knolled in the junior studio.

POINT-N-MEASURE CAD

Rough CAD made with precise measurements of each individual part. Used as a base for underlay sketches and to help guide the redesign process.

MOODBOARD

Themed moodboard - “sleek & sturdy”. Seeing as the laser measure was an industrial tool, I wanted the redesign to appear sleeker while still maintaining its rugged and tough feel.
